about

"I remember reading somewhere that in the beginning of Japanese noise, some artists played in the streets, making short appearances because it was forbidden. Shinjuku station has always been a place of choice for musicians to play on the street and noise concerts are still held there today.

The name of the album "Shinjuku station freaks" is a kind of homage to these "freaks" who, on the street or in concert halls, started to make a very daring music, and, to the amazement of many, spread to the whole world. This album will be the first of a series of albums called Shinjuku station freaks that symbolize the spread of the music created by these "freaks", hence the names of the songs being names of cities, in this case japanese, eventually from the rest of the world, with the exception of "fuck that dream" and "Evil at cosmos".

I like to think that connotations like "noisefreaks" or "japanoise" that initially had a rather prejurative meaning, are now part of 21st century Japanese culture. What a few "freaks" manage to do."
